In common with many communities, ale houses and eating places have come and gone.
The current survivors are:
The White Horse
The Butchers Arms
The Three Tuns
In recent times there were in fact four pubs serving the village. “The Bell” in the village square is now a private residence, leaving just the three. All currently serve food and offer a variety of beers: The Butchers Arms serving Hook Norton Ales, The White Horse is Brakspears and The Three Tuns varies its selection of Real Ales. All the pubs are centrally sited within 150 yards of each other!!
There used to be another pub called the “Red Lion” in, appropriately, Red Lion Street which leads down from the Church towards the Post Office. This closed many years ago and is now a private residence.
