In common with  many communities, ale houses and eating places have come and gone.
There are now only two survivors:
The White Horse
The Butchers Arms

In recent times there were in fact four pubs serving the village. The Bell in the village square is now a private residence, and the Three Tuns closed in February 2014 leaving just the current two. The White Horse offers food to eat in and the Butchers Arms is now the home of the Chinese Take-away that used to be part of the Three Tuns. The Butchers Arms serves Hook Norton Ales and The White Horse is Brakspears.
There used to be another  pub called the “Red Lion” in, appropriately, Red Lion Street which leads down from the Church towards the Post Office. This closed many years ago and is now a private residence.
